Children
We welcome children at St. Martin's! We have a rich array of educational, fellowship, and service activities for children and youth, led by staff and adult volunteers.
Children and worship
Children are welcome to attend services, however, we also offer nursery care for our younger members, with both outdoor play facilities and indoor activities.
Children's worship takes children into their own space and understanding of the Word during the 9:00 service. Children ages 3 through 10 have the option of leaving the adult service to experience and explore Bible stories told through Godly Play, with mentoring from adults and youth, and rejoin their families for Eucharist.
Church school
St. Martin's offers church school every Sunday from September through early June, with curricula designed to match children's developmental stages.
Children in pre-kindergarten through first grade use a "Godly Play" curriculum. "Wonder about God," rather than "learn about God," is key to this program. Older children explore the series "Living the Good News," which is a lectionary-based program that emphasizes learning by doing -- art, discussion, writing, games, and drama. Junior high students have their own dialogue and discussion.
